The Sarah Stockton Delaney Memorial Scholarship
The Sarah Stockton Delaney Memorial Scholarship honors
the extraordinary life of Sarah Stockton Delaney, a beloved alumna of the law
school who made a profound impact on everyone who knew her. Sarah was a
dedicated member of the Civil Law Mock Trial team, known for her kindness,
intelligence, and dedication to justice. Tragically, Sarah passed away due to complications from breast cancer a week
before she was set to take the bar exam in July 2024, just before she was to
begin her career at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
This scholarship celebrates Sarah’s passion for trial
advocacy and public service by supporting law students who share her commitment
to these fields. It is awarded to individuals who embody Sarah’s energy,
empathy, and dedication to public interest work, helping them pursue careers in
public practice where they can continue the work that mattered so deeply to
her.
